All my favourite colours in a necklace

I bought the large beads from a garage sale in South Australia .I loved the colours but it was such a small pack ,not enough really to make anything .In my stash I had a few pearls of different colours ,blue ,green and brown which I mixed in to make this necklace .

A bit fruity and drunk

I posted last week that I had only a very small piece of Christmas cake left ,by Saturday evening it was all gone,Steve had a a very sad face and a full tummy.Cake number two has been made for a few days now and has had a couple of alcoholic drinks,by the end of the week it should covered in almond paste and icing.

A bit of beading

Thought I'd try my hand at making a bracelet , not bad for a first attempt .Next time I will try and thread the beads on shirring elastic so it won't need a clasp.

Not your usual Christmas colours

A bit of a change from the red/green or blue/silver combo .The paisley paper is from a stack called 'Rosies Wedding '. I've used a red Promarker to colour the silver sticker.

back to the kitchen

I think we may have started our Christmas celebrations a little early ,this is all that remains of the cake I made in October. It's full of fruit ,moist and yummy but it never got to the almond paste and icing.Personally I prefer this  light colour ,the very dark cake can be a bitter and has an almost burnt taste. Off to buy more fruit this afternoon and back to the kitchen. I really should have made two in October .

Christmas wishes

I've used my favourite stamp to make these pretty cards. I used Promarkers to colour them and a Copic pale grey to go around the outside edges of the leaves .I happily coloured them all and then had to go through my stash to find some paper ,I only had enough star pattern for 3 and the 4th is a white dot design . All the petals have a sprinkle of white glitter which is just visible and then finished off with pearls or diamonds gems.I added some tiny silver stickers -peace -joy-hope.

Oh Christmas Tree

It seems an age since I last posted but I have been busy .The past two weekends I have been away (Hobart and Sydney ) to music concerts which were very good . One of our local aged care homes had a twilight fair on Friday afternoon and as I was in Sydney I couldn't volunteer but I did donate over 100 cards for them to sell.I need to get my brain in Christmas mode and post my cards before it's too late . I've tried several times today to make some cards but my mojo is all gone.

My little tree stickers started out silver and I coloured them with a Promarker in two different shades of green then stuck them onto a triangle of red card. The printed paper is 'Script ' from the 'Timeless Collection' at Kaisercraft. I raided my ribbon stash for the bows and used some red holograph sticky back plastic (comes on a roll ,the stuff you cover books with ) for the stripes. Not sure where the green paper came from.

Paper from Pebbles,a heart punch and rub on lettering. If you were wondering why the house isn't in the middle of the card it's because I wanted the flowers to show through the windows.

Deepest Sympathy

I rarely make Sympathy cards but when I do they have to be old school and quite respectful.I like to use black, grey, lilac , pale green and possibly lemon. I would only use bright colours if requested ,say pink for the death of a young girl .
Once the colour has been decided what to put on the front ,if you choose an image like my poppies then a short sentiment is best . For something a bit longer perhaps in a frame Psalm 48 is good as is Matthew 11.28 and whilst it's not pertaining to bereavement Psalm 23 'The lord is my Shepherd ' is very soothing to read.
If in doubt about the religious element then 'Our thoughts are with you at this sad time ' , or possibly 'With Deepest Sympathy ' .

Created With Love - challenge 4 - Sympathy - using text from the Bible.
The Pink Elephant - challenge 163 - Sympathy /Thinking of You
