I'm so cute

These cat earrings were given to me by a friend when I lived in Saudi Arabia. She knew I would never wear them as I am allergic to cheap metals but thought I might use them on a card.

I've used gingham paper which is a favourite of mine .Some handmade flowers and a cute little girl. The rest of my day will be quiet as my lovely husband is away on business so no cooking for me tonight .

This card is for -

Southern Girls- challenge 2 - Recycled jewelery .My little cat face.
Colour Throwdown - challenge 111- The colour plate above . The 'River Rock' was a bit tricky as I didn't know where to use it. The two blue flowers are made from the same border paper and edged with blue.
The Lollipop Ladies -challenge 4 -It's all about Gelato or the colours. I've gone with pink, blue and a krafty beige. I just hope we didn't have to use all the colours shown on their blog.
Tuesday Morning sketches -challenge 60 which isn't a sketch but 'Handmade Flowers'.
Scrappy Frogs - challenge -Flower Power -make your own flowers.

Something to tickle your fancy

Well now my shopping trip this morning was quite upsetting. When I left the store there was a very thin dog tied up awaiting its owner. Now when I say thin I mean starving ,I could count it's ribs . A young woman came to claim the dog and I confronted her and asked if the dog was ill in some way. A lame story unfolded that the dog suffered from stress and they were trying to fatten it up. I gave her a piece of my mind and said the RSPCA should be notified and she promptly gave her address.I have reported the case and hope that I am wrong in my observations, but I don't think so.

I don't why I didn't buy feathers before cos I'm having so much fun ,except for the sneezing.

This is for Get Sketchy - challenge 56 -The layout shown above. The turquoise background paper was a magazine freebie, the patterned paper is Kaisercraft.

Feeding Time

This simple card is for Stamping Vacation - Pick 3 - My pick is a circle tag ,a frame and something black. I'm off shopping now ,I may be back later as I have another card almost finished or I may sit on the deck as the weather is beautiful at the moment.

age is a state of mind

Well a happy Wednesday out there in blogland. My computer is back up to speed so I can post again. As you can see I've been playing with feathers again.

The background paper is a fabby vellum whose origin I don't know.I printed out the circle which already had the black design on it,I stamped the centre design with a dark red and added some bling. The sentiment is a mixture of peel offs and rub- ons. Not forgetting the feathers.

Digital Tuesday - challenge 77 -It's all about the Girls - Big girls in my case.
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday - challenge 85 - A Celebration of any kind. I'm going for the big 40 .

Sitting Pretty

We all do things on automatic pilot from time to time, usually the mundane things.I was just deciding if I should ink round the edges of the card when I realised I had used orange and purple together. I suppose it looks ok but it's not what I had planned. The image has been coloured using a variety of mediums.
wee Memories- challenge 23 - S O S -Scallops,Orange,String- Use at least two on your card. I didn't have any string so I used embroidery silk on my button.

Little Princess Ballerina

I don't usually do little girly cards but I thought it might be fun to use some feathers .As always the camera lets me down ,the background paper is grey but it looks more like Kraft. I'm not sure how I can fix the problem ,if you know leave me a message. The image is from Rusty Pickle ,the bodice has been raised on one layer of sticky pads, on the skirt I've used two layers of sticky pads to give some height.

Colour Throwdown - challenge 110 - Use the colour plate above for inspiration.
Off the Wall Craftiness -challenge 25 - they have a similar colour plate shown above.

I've got my pic a bit lopsided but then I'm no photographer ,I only started using the camera this year and it's a lot cleverer than I am. Despite the sentiment this little bear from Beccy doesn't look as if he's having much fun, perhaps I should have drawn a smile. His trousers have been paper pieced and he is raised up on sticky dots.

Just Cute Bears- challenge 34 -Inspired by a photo of a peacock, this was chosen by Beth - Cathy's' little girl. I've tried to use the lovely greens and blues associated with peacocks.

A couple of easy cards

365 Cards - day 195 -This or That- Make a card that could be used for more than one occasion. You could not have a sentiment and that would make it easy ,I've picked this sentiment for the outside, inside you could put 'On your birthday' or 'At this sad time'.

365 Cards -day 192 - Wild West- I always show you my efforts ,good or bad.I'm looking at this one now and thinking of ways to improve it.In my stash I have lots of star shaped brads in gold and silver which I could have painted and put on the boot and also in the corners .Back to the craft room.

More flowers than bear

This is my second attempt at making this small card.I printed out the bear image from here.It was all finished when I realised it didn't have any legs,I'm sure Beccy can tell me why but that's for another day. I cropped a pair of bear legs from one of her other images ,coloured them and attached them. The addition of legs made the image too big for my card so I had to start again. This image is a bit too small but I'm not doing it again, LIFE IS TOO SHORT or rather my bear is. The hat was printed out twice and raised on sticky pads.

Just Cute Bears -challenge 33 -Lets go dotty - spotty paper.
Shirleys2Girls - challenge 73 -Animals along with spots or dots.
Stamping Vacation - For Your Amusement- Bear With Me

A bit fruity

365 Cards - day 188 -divide and conquer -separate your card into 6 sections and decorate, making sure nothing overlaps.

Time, our most precious gift to each other

A layout ,week 54 from Get Sketchy
Ad inspired - day 186 from 365 Cards

When I saw the picture for 365 Days I couldn't decide if I should break out the gold ink and embossing powder or just to use Time as my theme.I think I made the right choice and used these muted colours for my card.
I've kept to the sketch and not added too many extras ,I'm just not sure about the butterfly. All the papers are from Michelle Powell.

Sunshine on a rainy day

As you can see I decided to use this stamp a second before it goes to the back of the drawer again.

Annabelle Stamps -Say it in Grey and Yellow

MerryMade Cards- Merry has a give away and this is my little card to enter. As soon as I started using the grey and yellow I knew I would come unstuck as I didn't have a silver sentiment sticker , an alphabet sheet came to the rescue.

Cake ,did you say CAKE

I haven't used this stamp ages so for todays challenge at 365 I brushed off the dust and made this card.

365 Cards - Day 187 - Friday Favourite - Food or drink inspired. I love cake and muffins ,any size , any flavour except coffee.

The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenge - September is a colour theme ,pink, green, chocolate and kraft. My card and bear are kraft ,the flower stem and leaves are dark chocolate ,the circles milk chocolate.

Autumn colours

365 Cards- Day 184 - Opposites Attract - choose a favourite and least favourite colour and match them together. I love green and for some reason orange is not a colour I often use. A little splash here and there works really well.
Papertrey Peeps -challenge 15- Fall in to Fall- Autumn Inspired by colours.
